James T. Biggs
Mr. Biggs is a member of the State Bar of California and is admitted to practice before all state courts and the Southern District, Central District and Eastern District Federal Courts of California. He has been a member of the Orange County Bar Association since 2001 and was a member of the Consumer Attorneys of California from 1998 to 2000. He has been a member of the William J. Ferguson, American Inns of Court, since 2002, and earned Team Leader awards in 2010 and 2011. A native of Michigan, Mr. Biggs relocated to California in 1985 and has lived and practiced here ever since1995.
Mr. Biggs has served as lead or co-counsel in various state cases, arbitrations, appeals, and mediations, including personal injury, medical and legal malpractice, and authored a the nationally published article on medical malpractice entitled “Drama in the ER Spills into the Streets-Literally,” The National Law Journal, June 2001; “Expanding the Reach of EMTALA,” Cotkin, Collins & Ginsberg Legal Update firm newsletter, July 2001.
Mr. Biggs graduated from California State University Long Beach in 1990, with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, we he served as president and then treasurer of the CSULB Law Society. He graduated from San Diego’s California Western School of Law in 1994, and was admitted to the State Bar of California in March 1995. Mr. Biggs was formerly an associate attorney with the Los Angeles and Santa Ana offices of Cotkin, Collins & Ginsburg, practicing medical malpractice before joining the Laguna Beach firm of Sall & Smolowitz (now Sall Spencer Callas & Krueger)
Mr. Biggs practices in the areas of professional malpractice and complex business litigation.
